Rousey vs. Holm Snapchat Story November 2015

On Saturday, November 14 Snapchat featured a story that followed the entire night of the long awaited fight between the two undefeated UFC women fighters, Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia.

The excitement for the fight weeks and even months ahead was incomparable and something that not only UFC enthusiasts had a particular interest in but also those who don’t necessarily consider themselves loyal fans. The Snapchat story was titled “Rousey vs. Holm” and began with a video of one of the fighters taping up before the match along with an opening statement that said, “Knuckles up. UFC champion Ronda Rousey takes on fellow unbeaten Holly Holm in Australia”. This was accompanied by a geofilter of both the fighters as drawn characters.

The story went on to show scenes from the incredible uproar of screaming fans counting down to the moment the two fighters would take on each other in the ring. What was really great about this Snapchat story was the fact that it gave those who were not there, a behind the scenes look at what the two fighters were doing to prepare for the fight. There were a couple that showed Rousey and Holm doing their traditional rituals and although they both looked determined to knock the other one out, only one proceeded to do so…

Following the story, it was not long before you were witnessing Holm completely take out Rousey while the crowd of onlookers sat and stood in utter awe and shock. With a couple punches to the head paired with a kick in the face, Holm took down Rousey in the very first round.

Celebrating with a back flip in the ring, Holm grabbed that belt and walked away as the only undefeated UFC woman champion. Though the fight may be over, there is no doubt that the two fighters will continue to push themselves and it certainly won’t be too long when the two meet once again inside that ring for another showdown.
