F1 Abu Dhabi Snapchat Story November 2015

On Sunday, November 29, 2015 Snapchat featured a story that followed the Grand Prix race of the year set in Abu Dhabi.

The story was titled “F1 Abu Dhabi” and opened with a shot of the track along with a statement that said, “World champ Lewis Hamilton looks to finish the F1 season strong. Put the pedal to the metal in Abu Dhabi.” The story then continued to show the viewers what exactly goes on at the races by featuring a geofilter that gave a fun fact: “HOT WHEELS…All 4 wheels can be replaced in under 4 seconds.” Other shots of the story included a few different celebrities who showed up for the main event that included both comedian, Kevin Hart and hit singer, Trey Songz.

With several other fun geofilters featured throughout the remainder of the story, it made for an exciting, thrilling and highly sought after event in one of the most prestigious and impressive Formula One tracks. Located on its very own Yas Island that boasts top track speeds of 320 km/h as opposed to the typical 195 km/h you see on other tracks around the world. The Snapchat story was definitely one that made any Grand Prix lovers out there green with envy as it showcased the insane intensity of the event.

With the story coming to wraps, the winner was finally announced and despite the fact that Hamilton was in high hopes of yet another win, Rosberg ended up snagging the title for this year’s F1 Grand Prix.

With such an impressive success taking place in the UAE this year, the future races will undoubtedly try to out-do it in the coming years…though I am not sure anything can quite beat a man-made island.
