In the second half of 2016 I have noticed that many search results change in mobile search about 24hrs before they change in desktop search.
At any time, in competitive niches you can type in a search on a cell phone and get different results in mobile than you will on desktop. And any time there is a noticeable change in search rankings or a shakeup in search results, you can literally predict where some pages will rank the next day on desktop search results.
This has been going on for years in countries outside the US. Sometimes I’ll use a Denmark proxy server and fire up Google.DE and search cities in the US to see where pages rank. There is often a time delay as changes to Google roll out across the world.
You heard it here first.
