After using several web hosts since as early as 1995, in 2014 our CEO decided to go with our own server located right here in North Carolina. We have used every hosting platform out there. There are some really good ones, and they are like finding a needle in a haystack. Below we have 4 options which fit most needs. We have also worked with various eCommerce platforms; contact us for custom solutions.
Web Hosting Solutions:
How web hosting affects SEO:
- Pagespeed. Pagespeed is an SEO factor. Sites hosted on shared servers run slow.
- Crawl Errors. If you have an important site, don’t put it on some cheap, overcrowded shared server. It is going to go down when you least expect it. Below is a screenshot from Google Webmaster Tools. This is the actual error that shows up in the dashboard when Google thinks your website is gone:
The Telapost.net server:
Alpha is running an Intel XEON E3-1240v3 CPU, RAID SSD HDs, 24GB RAM, CentOS, Reverse NGinX, Memcached, Apache. The server is professionally managed and backed up. It is located in Charlotte NC at DC74 datacenter, building CLT-4. This datacenter is secure and has 10 separate fiber providers. See it in action here at Telapost.net Web Hosting.
We’ve seen entire IP blocks get blacklisted due to spam. Hosting on a cheap server means you’re on the same box as thousands of other undesirable sites. If one of them starts spamming and gets the IP blacklisted, your site gets knocked, too. If you don’t mind these odds, go with a cheap $4/mo account. Need something ridiculous for a large need that is going to run thousands of dollars each month? We can go over some of Rackspace’s offerings with you for free since we’re also a Rackspace Partner. If you want the best for your business, or if you would just like to hear more horror stories, just give us a call. Whatever you do, don’t screw your company over by trying to save ten dollars per month.
